Although the PHotoEspaña workshop was only 48 hours, it was meaningful. Every student asked for stronger tools in their quest to become better visual communicators. Sometimes my criticisms can be tough; yet everyone realized they were important to me as distinctly unique individuals.  My words come from a concern to get them closer to their own versions of truth.  Essentially my purpose as a workshop leader is to remind them to do no harm as photographers working in a deeply divided, unfair world.

I asked photographers to document the International Women's Day March. Now I would like to share my images here. How lucky was I to be walking with everyone singing and chanting for women's rights. I believe things will get better when we are united and we are truly visible.  We must take back the power for our lives to soar as free birds.

Gracias to the great Oliva María Rubio for her vision, to the translators, and to my friend, Celina Alvarado for showing her photographs of the space man. Also a special thanks to the group of students, Jon Bradburn, Alain Coiffier, Maria Rosa Sanchiz, Concha Fernandez Vazquez, Rufino Manuel, Gregorio Puado, Emy de Lema Nafria, Yael González-Choren, Marina Struk, Fran Villalba, Nuno Perestrelo, Daniella Rangel, and Alvaro Rasheed.  This workshop was for you and I, too, learned from you.
